The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jane Stirling can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Jane

Jane, started school in a one roomed school house in Greenwhich, going onto Port Williams, and then back to Greenwhich for high school, then going to Halifax for post-secondary school, she received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in mathematics and minor in architecture and at 46 returning to school to receive top honours in computer programming. She was very involved in the community, she was a Girl Guide leader for many years, sang in church choirs from Nova Scotia to Calgary, she sat on many communities/boards through the United Church of Canada. She worked at many of her family's fruit markets, worked at the original Toronto Deminion Bank, she worked as a bookkeeper for a millwright company, she helped manage her aunt's motels and restaurant, eventually moving to Calgary to take on a career as a computer programmer. She loved power tools, whether it was a skill saw or sewing machine. She renovated every house she ever lived in and helped others renovate their houses too. She made clothes for all of the little girls and some quilts for the boys, which got passed down through several relatives, until there was nothing left of them. Jane, loved to garden, so much that she traveled to Ontario for years to help her bonus mother in-law, with her gardens and designed gardens for several relatives, even in May she was helping her aunt with her garden. Jane, also loved to travel, she traveled from Spanish Wells, Bahamas, to Morro Bay, California and as far as Dortmund, Germany.
Jane, is sadly missed, not just by her friends and family but also by the hardware stores from coast to coast.
