I was so shocked and saddened to read of Susan's passing in The Montreal Gazette. I know my name doesn't seem familiar to you but that's because Susan and I were childhood friends. Susan and her family lived across the street from me on MacDonald Avenue in Montreal and we were friends from age 9 through 16 or 17. As is the usual norm, as we grew up we drifted apart but I have such fond memories of our childhood friendship. We spent many days together as we were good friends during that period. Naturally she towered (literally) over us all and given the cruel nature of some children I know it was hard on her but I always thought it was so cool to be so tall and reassured her that the other children were just jealous. Even her grandmother was a very towering woman. So, although I've never had the pleasure of meeting you Greg, nor her children Ashley and Efrem, please accept my deepest condolences to the three of you on your loss. It's very clear from the condolences left that she grew into a much-loved woman, mother and friend which really is not surprising. Should you or her children want to know more about our childhood please feel free to email me. Meanwhile, stay strong and know you were all deeply loved by a caring woman - hold dear the memories. I know I will. P.S.: I noticed that Susan's brother Gary was not mentioned in her obituary - can you tell me what became of him? Thank you.
