July 23rd, 1970 - March 1st, 2018
Patrick “Kent” Yanciw – Husband, dad, brother, cousin, co-worker and friend has been unexpectedly taken from us on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 at the age of 47 years.
Kent is predeceased by his mother, Barb (Gingras) Leger, and his father Metro Yanciw. Kent is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Donna (Cornhill), his daughter Melissa, his stepfather John Leger and his brother Cory Yanciw. He will forever be remembered by numerous relatives, friends and colleagues.
Kent has been a part of the Air Canada team for over 20 years, a longstanding passionate member of the IAMAW (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) and for much of the last decade an event manager annually at the Calgary Stampede.
Kent will be remembered as the fun, friendly and compassionate “guy next door” who loved his family, loved his work and most certainly loved his motorcycle and remains a cherished member of the Bow Valley Harley Owner’s Group.
Friends, family and colleagues are invited to celebrate Kent’s life in the Wainwright Hotel at Heritage Park Historical Village (located at 1900 Heritage Drive SW, Calgary) on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers Kent’s family has asked that instead you consider a donation be made on Kent’s behalf to the Fresh Start Recovery Centre located in Calgary.
