Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dan Puhach can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Dan Puhach

Dan Puhach
Bohdan "Dan" Demetrius Puhach
August 4th, 1934 - November 24th, 2017

Dan was born in Wandering River, AB and was schooled in Edmonton and Athabasca prior to attending the Universities of Alberta and British Columbia. He taught school in various locations in B.C Dan’s strength was his mathematical mind, ultimately leading to a career in computer technology. Dan worked with various companies such as , MacMillan-Bloedel in Vancouver; Scott National, Western Cooperative Fertilizer, The Calgary Board of Education, The Calgary General Hospital, and The Alberta Hospital Association prior to his career as a consultant.

Dan’s had many interests including hunting, spending time in the outdoors, working as a hockey coach/referee, reading, dancing and was also a proud volunteer at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada. Dan had a strong Christian faith and death held no fear for him.

Dan is survived by sons, Ian (Norma) in Toronto, ON and Dan in Mexico; grandchildren, Matthew and Madeleine of Toronto, ON, Felicia of Calgary, AB and Bruce of Sooke, BC; Brother, Dr. Paul (Lina) Puhach of Kingston, ON; special friend/business partner, Lillian Jones of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous friends near and far.

Special thanks to High River Hospital staff: Dr. Adam Vyse; Nurses, Tiffany, Bree and Jake; the Ernie and Mark Hofer families, Cayley Colony, for their loving support and for providing dinners for Lillian, and the Cayley Colony Ladies for Providing today’s lunch. Also, special thanks to Mirsada Culic for her on-going support to Dan. It is with great appreciation that we thank the Bomber Command Museum today for hosting today’s event. Last but not least, thank you to those who have travelled a distance to attend today’s service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dan may be made to the Nanton Lancaster Society at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada.
