David Francis Gadzella passed away October 10, 2017 in Calgary, AB at the age of 67. He died peacefully in his sleep.

David was the eldest of 11 children born to Walter Gadzella and Rita Gadzella (nee Novokowski). He was born on September 13, 1950, in Debdon SK. He grew up in Saskatoon SK, attending St. John Bosco Catholic Elementary School and E. D. Feehan Catholic High School, after which he moved to Calgary, AB.

David spent most of his adult life working in Calgary, much of the time as a truck driver. He was a private person and enjoyed a simple life. He enjoyed being close to the Rocky Mountains. A favorite was to watch and talk about sports. David had a pleasant smile, and his laugh came through in conversations he enjoyed with family and friends. He treasured his Catholic faith. Cowtown won’t be the same without David.

David was predeceased by his parents, brothers Lawrence and Paul, and niece Rebecca. He is survived and lovingly remembered by siblings Ann (Frank Regan), Louise Sheil (Rod), Shirley, Gerry (Mercy), Diana Wiebe (Tim), Roger (Phung Ha), Ken, and Irene, and by nephews Andrew, Greg, Chris and Michael, and niece, Kyla (Linden). He will also be remembered by his aunts and uncles and many cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Parish (5340-4th Street SW) on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:30 am. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 – 4th Street NW). In lieu of flowers, Mass intentions for the repose of the soul of David or a donation to The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (www.fssp.com) may be made in his name.
