Obituary for Peter Martin Huybregts

Peter Martin Huybregts
Peter Huybregts
October 13th, 1945 - Sunday, September 10th, 2017

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Peter Huybregts at the age of 71. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years Tina (Tineke); his sons Dennis (Nancy) and Ian; daughter Christel; six sisters and three brothers, and extended family and friends.

Born in Breda, the Netherlands on October 13th, he was the oldest of ten children. Peter immigrated to Calgary in 1967 and Tineke followed him a year later. They were married on February 28th, 1970. He began as a cabinet maker and retired after a 24 year career as a project manager in civil engineering. His projects took him all over Alberta, from Lake Louise to High Level and Grand Prairie to Cold Lake.

Peter approached all he did with craftsmanship, pride, and precision. He was always ready with a “handyman” helping hand for anyone in need. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and family throughout his life and during retirement.

With a twinkle in his eye, Peter was always ready with a little joke or comment. He was happiest spending time with his family in the Kootenays or playing a game of Mexican train on a Saturday night. He will be dearly missed.

Many thanks to the healthcare providers of Unit 73 at The Rockyview General Hospital for their compassionate care for Dad.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish (10827-24th Street SW) on Thursday, September 14th, 2017 at 11:00am.
