The family of Marjorie Straub is heartbroken to share the news of her passing on March 23, 2017 at South Calgary Health Campus in Calgary, Alberta.

Born April 28, 1932 in Calgary, Alberta to Lillian and Albert (Jack) Denning, Marjorie was raised in Turner Valley in the beautiful Foothills that she continued to love and live near for her entire life.

She cherished her family and friends and had a great love of music, travel and in helping others. She is survived by her children Terry Straub and Sharon Wilson of Calgary and her beloved granddaughters Shelby and Shea Wilson as well as her daughter-in-law Sherry Straub and son-in-law Cal Wilson.

Marjorie lived a life in devoted service of her community including Lewis Memorial United Church, Oilfields Hospital and as as volunteer for numerous Boards and Committees in the area.

Marjorie sat on Turner Valley Town Council for 3 terms and truly loved serving in her role as the mayor of Turner Valley from 2004-2007.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff of Unit 66 at South Calgary Health Campus for their incredible kindness, compassion and wonderful care of Marjorie in her illness and final days.

A Celebration of her life will be held at United Church in the Valley (125 Royal Avenue) Turner Valley on Friday, March 31st, 2017 at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sheep River Health Trust in favor of Oilfields Hospital or the Oilfields Food Bank located at the United Church in Turner Valley, 125 Royal Avenue, P.O. Box 1318, Turner Valley, Alberta.
