Condolence: Registered Therapy dogs Twillow and Tala comforted many at Lisa’s recent memorial service. Lisa would be so happy knowing the dogs were present. I was shocked and deeply saddened by her sudden death. Lisa carried a deep wisdom and innate knowing of the human animal bond, an emblem of eternal love. A bond exemplified with the love of her companion dog Kairos, a magnificent Siberian husky. A love that effortlessly spilled over into her friendship and work with therapy dogs, Tangus (2000-2010) and Tumbra (2008-2010), gentle Shiloh Shepherds, creating a sense of calm and peacefulness for all involved. The deep wisdom gained through animal bonds knew no temporal states. All the sentient beings that crossed Lisa’s path would be forever blessed with her kindness and generosity. Lisa’s love of animals, apparent as daylight, focused on the depth of connection rather than on length. A few years ago, Lisa delivered a handmade card with her added prose along with a large silver dragonfly charm. Dragonfly, token of magic, myth, and divine mystery hangs suspended in my vehicle to this day. This little artifact keeps her spirit close by. I will talk to the earth and stars for they will carry forth our friendship in between the silence and complexities of not knowing.
During this holiday season I will try to make even more time for those socially isolated, feeling alone, or may be struggling with things we know little about and I will send them peace for their hearts. Blessings to all.
