Marvin Martin
February 19, 1934 - April 18, 2019
As he has been called Home to be with his Father in Heaven, it is with sadness we announce the passing of Marvin. Beloved husband of Marijke Martin, much loved father of Randall (Dorothy) Martin and best grandpa ever to Andrew (Brianne), Christopher and Ethan Martin. Great grandfather to Jackson,Emmalynn, Thatcher and Parker.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents Christian and Bertha, daughter Elizabeth, brother, Ben and sister Esther Mulbeier. He is survived by brother Herb and twin brother Melvin Martin, sisters-in-law Doris Martin, Henny Dohmeier, Tilly Roberts and brother-in-law John Schipper, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, enjoyed many camping trips, afternoon drives and day trips in the mountains with his bride of 53 years. He loved to curl and to sing, and was a part of the Master’s Singers choir.
Marvin was a reliable, hard-working man. He always put his family first. Constantly on the go; upon his retirement, he quipped, “I don’t know how I ever found time to work before”. His quiet demeanor concealed an incredible inner and outer strength. Working with steel for a great deal of his life he was strong like steel, steady and able to handle whatever life brought to him.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on May 1, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Sierras of Evergreen. (15 Everstone Drive. Bldg A - second floor.).
