Timothy Edmondson
December 27th, 1953 - March 10th, 2019
Timothy Gordon Edmondson, "Boomer", passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Damn it!
Tim was born December 27, 1953 in Didsbury and grew up in Carstairs. The family moved to Red Deer when Tim was a young teenager. After a few years as a nomadic hippie, Tim made Calgary his home base for the last thirty years.
Tim loved to play and to party, but proudly celebrated fifteen years of sobriety last fall. He touched and changed innumerable lives during his thirteen years working at The Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre, never forgetting "There but for the grace of God, go I".
Nine years ago, Tim met the true love of his life. He and Cathy spent many a day on road trips, both short and long, with a bag of Doritos and Iced Caps as their favourite "go for a drive" snack.
He had a great love of family and was generous with his time and wisdom. An avid Flames and Stampeders fan, a story-teller who loved to laugh and to make others laugh, a do-er of crosswords, a lover of bad puns and clever humour, Tim will be forever missed by so many.
Tim leaves behind an abundance of loved ones who cherished him dearly: his special lady, Cathy Dimock; seven siblings, Gerry, Wendy, Bob (Wilma), Shirley (Terry), Pat, Kent (Tilly), Kelly; several nieces and nephews, sharing a special relationship with niece Morgan, two step-sons, Gordon and Jeff; sister-in-law, Sue; his AA family, and too many friends to count. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Edna Edmondson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Simon House Recovery Centre.
A Celebration to honour Tim's life will be held at the Bowness Seniors Centre, 6422 - 35 Avenue NW, Calgary on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
