Obituary for Thomas "Tom" Paul Miller

Miller, Thomas Paul

Tom Miller passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in his home in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 70 years. He was born as one of a natural set of triplets on March 18, 1948 in Moncton, New Brunswick to parents Katherine (nee Kervin) & Theodore Miller.

Tom will never be forgotten by his children, Amanda Miller of High River, AB, Randy Miller of Calgary, AB, Lindsay Keelaghan (Chris) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Meagan Keelaghan of Kelowna, BC and Zach Keelaghan of Edmonton, AB. His legacy will continue with his grandchildren, Corey, Justin of Calgary, AB, Madyson & Riley of Edmonton, AB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also missing him will be his siblings, Earl (Fran) Miller of Truro, NS, Ted (Leona) Miller of Victoria, BC, Karen (Bill) Grekoff of Cambridge, ON, Kathleen (Denis) Rousseau of Hawkesbury, ON and Mary-Margret Miller of Colpitts Settlement, NB. Tom was pre-deceased in 2014 by his loving wife Cathy (nee DesRochers), brother Donnie (Beverly) from Dieppe, NB.

Tom served in the in Canadian Army for several years, overseas and in Nova Scotia and Kingston, ON. He was very proud to be a Military Veteran and was very patriotic.

After his Military service Tom worked for the Solicitor General in Corrections. Tom had an extensive 35 year career with Corrections here in Calgary Spyhill Correctional Centre as well as up in Peace River.

He will be lovingly remembered as a generous, gentle man with a great sense of humour, and a talent for telling tall fishing tales. He loved the outdoors, a good family gathering and talking politics around the table.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to your local Royal Canadian Legion.
