It is with great sadness we announce that surrounded by her loving family, Rita Marie Richter peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 after a courageous and tough fought battle against cancer at the age of 56 years. Rita lived her life with great passion and tenacity and made each moment of every day count. She was a member of school councils where her children attended school and an active member of her parish. Rita always added joy to any room she entered and left everyone she met feeling better about themselves. Rita will forever be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 28 years, Stephen and their precious children, Jordan, Emily and Adam. Rita will also be lovingly remembered by her dear mother, Marguerite Berube; her brothers, Louis, Leo (Nicole), Philip (Monica) and Rene (Charlene); her extended family including her mother-in-law, Donelda; brothers-in-law, Brian (Eunice) Ron (Karen) Dave (Patti) and Tim and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita also leaves behind countless friends. Rita was predeceased by her father, Ernest Berube.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Rita’s life on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Dr. N.W. with the Rev. Jonathan Gibson officiating. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Rita to the Sage Centre Calgary, 1245 – 70th Ave. S.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2H 2X8.
