Our bright and shiny star, may you fly free among the angels and watch over us.

Josephine Wood passed away in Calgary on August 30, 2018 at the age of 59. She was the devoted and loving wife of Leonard Ell and loving mother of Robert (Megan) Veldhuizen. Josie will also be greatly missed by her grandsons Braeden and Nolan, who were the center of her life.

Josie was a loving sister to Glenda (Mike) Freeland, Patty (Don) Drouillard, Glen (Gail) Wood, and Charles “Chubby” Wood; a devoted aunt to nieces and nephews Tracy Freeland and Michael Freeland, Amy Allard, Kelly (Adam) Dagenais, and Macey Lovell; a very special great-aunt to Madison and Katelyn Freeland-Main, Zachary and Lucas Allard, and Ethan and Avery Dagenais; and lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Glen Wood and Josephine Gardiner, and godfather Joseph “Hunk” Vormitagg.

Josie will also be fondly missed by her in-laws Derrick (Wilma) Ell, Laurie (Jeff) Rutter, Ernie Ell, Steve (Glenda) Ell, Gilbert (Debbie) Ell, Julia (Scott) Leard, Michael (Wendy) Ell, Tracey Roasting, Jody Spence, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Known for her infectious smile and laugh, Josie will also be remembered for her fun-loving, generous, sassy, feisty, hard-working personality, and that she adored her family and friends. Never one to give up on her dreams, Josie was full of life and had a big heart.

In keeping with Josie’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
