Michael William Hughes
June 21, 1961 - Tuesday, July 24, 2018

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael William Hughes on July 24, 2018. Mike is survived by his partner Lynne; his children Mallory, Alissa and Brian; grandchildren Seth, Ellie, David, Marley and Ben; and his brother Chris. He was predeceased by his parents Shirley and Bill.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Mike moved to Calgary for work in 1990. Although he never moved back, Mike always considered Ontario home and talked fondly of missing it.

Mike will be lovingly remembered for his laugh that could fill a room and go on forever. He loved to laugh. In fact, Mike introduced his family to the humor of Chris Farley, Saturday Night Live, and Dumb and Dumber and these have gone on to be favorites for many. Mike also loved fishing and searching out the best pizza around but he really loved to talk; there was no such thing as a quick phone call with Mike. He also had a nick name for everyone.

A Celebration of Mike's Life and Farewell will be held on August 6, 2018 from 3-5 pm at Chain Lakes Provincial Park Campground.
