Obituary for Roland Villacasten Montesclaros

Roland Villacasten Montesclaros
Roland Montesclaros
January 14, 1943 - May 30th, 2018

Roland passed away with his family by his side, on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 at the age of 75. Roland was born in Medellin, Cebu, Philippines. His parents were Nicanor and Manuela Montesclaros and he was the eleventh of twelve children. Before coming to Canada, Roland was a doctor in the Philippines.

He enjoyed spending his spare time planting flowers and tending to his mango trees, as well as watching the Filipino channel. A devout Catholic, Roland attended several churches in the city and was always a helping hand to his wife Ofie during church activities. Every Wednesday, for over the past thirty years, Roland and Ofie were involved with the Mother of Perpetual Help Devotion at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and every June they would organize the nine day Novena. As well, he enjoyed singing in the Resurrection Choir at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Roland’s smile and laughter will be dearly missed by all. He always kept a positive attitude, even when things were hard. The memories Roland left with family and friends will be cherished forever.

Roland will lovingly be remembered by his wife Ofie and her daughter Tammy (James) and their 3 children; his son Ronnie (Gigi) and their son Renan; his brother and 4 sisters and their spouses; his nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews; and his friends.
