Obituary for Nathaniel Jacob Sieppert

Nathaniel Jacob Sieppert
Nathaniel Sieppert
November 8th, 1983 - November 29th, 2017

It is with unmeasurable sadness that the family and friends of Nathaniel Sieppert announce his unexpected passing on November 29th, 2017. Just two weeks into being 34, Nathan was taken from us far too soon, without sufficient time to fully share his gifts and zest for life.

Nathan was a beautiful and perfect son, grandson, brother and friend. He was born with a pure heart that never lost its joy, ability to spark a smile, or generosity and kindness. Nathan was lighthearted and quick to embrace new adventures and friends. His greatest joys were to spend time with family, to help a friend, or to make a child laugh. He loved to fish and hunt – pursuits he tackled even as diabetes and kidney disease stole his health.

Nathan is survived by his parents Jackie and Shirley, sisters Chantelle and Erin, new brothers Chris and Rahul, grandparents Larry, Ardis and Gail, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. All are heartbroken, but find comfort in the strength of family and our shared memories of Nathan.

In many ways Nathan was the heart of our family. He brought us together with his simple delight for life and his over-the-top spirit. While gone, he will be remembered every day by those he has touched.

The family would like to offer our deepest thanks to the remarkable I.C.U. team at Foothills hospital, who showed utmost professionalism and compassion in Nathan’s last days. We would also like to say thank you to the team in Unit 37 – the dialysis unit – at Foothills Hospital. They fought heroically to bring Nathan back after a devastating cardiac arrest, and we are forever grateful for their efforts.

As per Nathan’s wishes, there will be a small, private Celebration of Life for his family and closest friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nathan may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (www.kidney.ca).
