Condolence From: Jim and Lucy
Condolence: Luke, our sympathy at the loss of your father.
To us, Dex was a man with a gentle heart, well camouflaged by an impish grin, surprising pranks, a love of bargaining, and daredevil ways. Jim still talks of Dexter blasting out Highway 1A at well over a 100 mph in his Porsche Super 90. His zest for life was contagious and we will miss him. Jim and Lucy Briggs

Condolence: Hi Luke-
We were so sorry to hear that Dexter had passed away and to hear about all of the health problems your Dad was having. We were not able to travel to Calgary to visit him, so we sent him a card via Canada Post on overnight express priority. It was supposed to go on Jan 21st to arrive on Jan22. I gather it never got to him. So much for the $30 guaranteed next day delivery. Now they are telling us that it never got delivered at all, let alone on the next day. We tell you this, not to complain about Canada Post (but we will elsewhere), but to tell you that on a tight budget we valued Dexter enough to blow $30 on a card to wish him well and to recount some of the Calgary parties. No wonder Canada Post is losing money!
We first met Dexter in Calgary in 1968- probably in Jim Brigg's garage. We spent about 4 years visiting with and partying with "the gang" (aka the "Canada Day clan"). Dexter was always the life of the party. He had a wonderful smile, an infectious laugh and great sense of humour.
We last saw him in Phoenix a few years ago. We had lunch with him and, although we had to hurry through eating, we had to be sure to have enough time to go to the race course! We understand that horse racing was a passion with him and we look forward to placing a bet (or bets) in his honour. We'll let you know if we win.

Condolence From: Kathy and Dick Meston
Condolence: Dick and I have always considered Dex one of our closest friends. As a matter of fact, he introduced us, and was a member of our wedding party many years ago. We loved his sense of humour, and we enjoyed spending time with him and Sherry, in Phoenix a number of times over the years. I always looked forward to receiving his jokes over the internet. As youngsters, Dick, Dex, Lionel, and Bill MacDonald, spent a lot of time together, exploring, and who knows what else. Our deepest condolences go out to Luke and the family. He will be missed.
