May 1st, 1939 - Saturday, December 15th, 2018
Mary passed on Saturday Dec.15th while in care at the Chinook Hospice. She is predeceased by her mother Violet; father Colin; sister Faye, and sister in-law Maureen. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Gordon; daughter Heather (Ron); brothers Malcolm and Colin (Ruth); as well numerous extended family.
Mary was most comfortable creating a beautiful home, decorated with antiques and art. “More is More” her lifelong motto. She loved organizing and hosting family celebrations; most memorable of these at the Fairmount Drive house and Dad’s 70th birthday out at the farm. Her intuitive sense of style and colour was expressed through her watercolours. Funky portraits and in your face florals were her favourites subjects.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Foothills Unit 37 and Chinook Hospice. At Mary’s request, her ashes will be scattered in Edmonton; near the Groat Ravine where she played as a child. She will be missed.
