Obituary for Robert "Bob" Earl Johns

Print
Robert "Bob" Johns
April 13th, 1941 - November 7th, 2018

With his wife by his side, Bob Johns passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at the age of 77.

Bob was born in Saskatoon and grew up on a farm near Zelma. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.Ed and pursued a career in teaching, mainly in the North West Territories.

In his younger years, Bob was involved in cadets and drama. He was a runner and enjoyed being active. He found being a part of the volunteer fire department to be one of the most rewarding things he ever did.

Despite the challenges that Bob faced, he always had a positive attitude. He will be remembered for his love of history, archaeology, and anthropology. This love led to many trips and cruises to explore the world.

Bob was passionate about music and played the saxophone, the banjo and even the harmonica. He loved to sing and was a beautiful tenor.

In his later years, Bob maintained his involvement in the community, whether it be volunteering in the school library or being involved in wheelchair curling.

Bob will be dearly missed by his wife Arlene; daughter Connie Johns (Doug Ashby); 7 grandchildren; sister Sharon (Richard) Shout; brother Lloyd (Noreen) Johns; and daughter -in-law Patsy Johns. Bob was predeceased by his son Bryant and daughter Catherine Mary.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca).
