Terrence Borisenko
February 3, 1974 - Monday, November 5, 2018

Terrence Borisenko passed away on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at the age of 44.

Terrence Timothy “Boris” Borisenko, age 44, went to be with Jesus on Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born on February 3, 1974 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Music was Terry’s life. He learned piano at an early age and took up saxophone in high school “as if it was born in his mouth”. He taught both of these instruments to beginning students in after school hours. He graduated Walter Murray Collegiate High School with honors. Terry ventured to Calgary after high school. He got his Reefer Mechanic Journeyman Certification and worked for many years at Polar Refrigeration. He was known to be able to fix anything. He also worked for his Father-In-Law for several years with Paint Medic. He continued with his love for music, expanding his talent to the bass guitar. He enjoyed performing “gigs” with multiple different band members for events such as church worship, weddings, parties, civic ceremonies, Calgary Stampede, and funerals.

Terry welcomed to the world his daughter, Julia Borisenko, in 1999, the love of his life. Terry was also known for his love of fishing and camping, antiques, continuing family tradition by canning relish, listening to classic vinyl music, playing games with his family, and cuddling with his animals and “stuffies”.

Terry is survived by his daughter Julia Borisenko; his parents Levi and Darlene (Ford) Borisenko; sisters Lynn (Borisenko) and Leigh Derksen, and Kim Borisenko; as well as niece Brianne (Derksen) and Noah Wiebe, with new grand-nephew Simeon, and nephew Jamison Derksen. Also, Auntie Joan (Ford) and Merv Loewen; and Auntie Lois (Ford) and Derwyn Owen; as well as cousins, multiple other family members and many friends he considered family. Preceding him in death were Terry's grandparents Michael and Mary (Rabuka) Borisenko and Arthur and Vivian (Miller) Ford.

Terry struggled valiantly with the effects of his diabetes. We would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses, and close friends who cared for him over the years, especially Lutz and Arlene Sonnenberg.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Centre Street Church-Bridgeland Campus (235 8A Street NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 am. Those who desire can make a donation in Terry’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada .
