Obituary for Susan Ollett (Polnai)

OLLETT, Susan
September 16, 1933 - November 3, 2018

Susan Ollett passed away in Calgary, AB on Saturday, November 3, 2018, having lived 85 years long.
Susan lived with her daughter, Rhea; her son-in-law, Brad, and a lot of dogs, cats and horses on an acreage near Airdrie, Alberta for the last 12 years. Prior to this, Susan lived in Saskatchewan. She was born in SW Saskatchewan in Maple Creek, grew up on a farm near Golden Prairie, and moved to Regina upon completion of high school. Susan remained in Regina until she moved to be with the daughter, son-in-law, and grandcritters.

Susan started at SaskTel as a telephone operator upon finishing Grade 12 and worked there till she retired in 1993 in the IO Computer Department. Susan was honoured to have received a Top Gun Award from SaskTel in 1989 for her implementation of new computer programs that saved SaskTel millions of $ in paper costs.
Susan was a strong-willed, independent person who loved doing her own things. Susan loved plants and propagated and grew hundreds of plants at her place in Regina. She took up golfing and supremely enjoyed this time spent with friends. Susan was also a top tier shopper, as she loved having lots of beautiful clothes.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her only child, Rhea Ollett and son-in-law, Brad Kaminski; younger sisters, Helen Van Luven and Elizabeth Schneider and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Susan and Joseph Polnai; older brother, Joe Polnai; older sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Emil) Klein; and brother-in-law, Charlie Van Luven.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held at Golden Rod Hall (West of Airdrie, on the corner of Secondary 567 at 772) on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1 pm. Please RSVP in the condolences section.
