Stephen Holden
May 15th, 1955 - Wednesday, October 24th, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Holden on Wednesday, October 24th, 2018 at the Peter Lougheed Centre.

Stephen will be dearly missed by his loving Wife Cathy of 31 years; Sons Paul (Lucy) and Sean (Autumn); Grandchildren Spencer, Ally, Marina, Gio, and Jakob; Brothers David and Kevin; and Sisters Kathy, Delores, and Nancy. He was predeceased by his Mother Edith, Father Stephen, and Brother Stanley.

Stephen was born in Edmonton, AB on May 15, 1955. He became a pressman at a very young age, beginning his career when he was 15. This was his passion, and he was a great perfectionist when it came to his work.

A man of few words, Stephen kept his conversations short and sweet. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading Stephen King and the Calgary Sun newspaper.

He greatly appreciated spending time with his family, especially going camping with them. He loved this past time as long as his wife Cathy did all of the packing and organizing for the trip, which was a tradition with the grandkids every summer. Stephen's grandchildren meant the world to him, and his time spent with them was very meaningful. His grandchildren called him "Papa Stephen," and some of his family's favorite nicknames for him were "The Grump" or "Old Fart."

A Celebration of Life will be held at Choice Memorial Cremation and Funeral Services (105-4715 13 St NE) on Saturday, November 17 from 2:00-5:00 pm with Tributes at 3:00 pm. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or a charity of one's choice.
