Obituary for Terry Diane Stewart (Reid)

Terry Stewart
November 2nd, 1958 - September 4th, 2018

Terry Diane Reid Stewart, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, after a 8 month struggle with brain cancer. Terry was born on November 2, 1958 in Vancouver, British Columbia to her loving parents, Mom, Shirley Reid Flynn, and her Dad, the late Ivan Reid. Terry is also survived by her beloved Auntie Sharron Weir.

Terry was an incredible and doting “Mumzie”, to her beloved Daughter, Amy Stewart (Oliver Waugh). Everyone in their lives could feel the enormous love they had for each other. She was so happy Amy had found a special person to spend the rest of her life with and was welcomed with open arms into the Waugh/Etzkorn family. Together, with Amy’s Dad, Bruce Stewart, they enjoyed spending time traveling, playing cards, and walking along the river, which often included picnics.

Terry had a zest for life, and was always on the go. She loved her Friday’s playing bingo, enjoyed delicious meals prepared by Amy and Oliver, walking in Fish Creek Park, pedicures, playing games, picnics and road trips listening to her favorite CDs while navigating with old school maps.

Terry had a passion for helping others. She was extremely generous to everyone in her life with her time, mailing cards, buying a thoughtful gift, or simply sending a text to let you know, she was thinking of you and loved you. Terry was a proud blood donor to the Canadian Blood Services and donated 77 times.

Terry will be deeply missed, and cherished by her sister, Julie Handel (Vern), brother Darryl Reid (Katherin), and sister-in-law Catherine Buchanan (Rick). Terry was adored by her nieces and nephews, Alicia Rorison (Terry Lee), Jessica Sandell (Matthew), Jeramy Reid, Tara Cuvelier (Mark), Travis Langlois (Ashton), Brendan Buchanan and Christina Buchanan. She was an amazing Great Auntie to Michael, Katie, Emily, Vivian, Ella, Nyah. and Theodore.

Her many friendships were vitally important to her. She had an incredible relationship with her dear friends Don and Carol Fraser, John and Bonnie Rowe, Mary & Gary Davidson, Amy Bertand, Shelley Wainman, Misty Black along with countless friends and family, each and everyone of whom who held a very special place in her heart.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Tulip Season of 2019.
