Gabriele Langan
October 8th, 1964 - July 20th, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Gabriele Grossi Langan announces her passing on July 20, 2018, at the age of 53 years. Growing up in Calgary, AB and establishing a life and career in Fort McMurray, AB, she lived a life full of love for her family and friends. It was this love that gave her the strength and courage to battle cancer for nearly 24 years with such determination and grace that amazed everyone who knew her.
Gabe will be forever loved and remembered by her husband, best friend, and soul mate of 37 years, Russell Langan. She was a mother figure to her nephew Anthony Grossi, who she lovingly guided and was an inspiration for his pursuit in the medical field. Prior to her passing, she wanted to express her appreciation for the love and support she received from her brothers Dino Grossi and Marino Grossi. She also shared special bonds with her Aunt Gina and Aunt Sylvia who were very much like older sisters to her. She will lovingly be remembered by her brothers and sisters, and nephews and nieces. Gabe will also be forever remembered by her aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family and friends who have shown her the greatest love and support throughout her life. Her cherished fur babies, Charlie and Roxy will forever miss their mom. She has been greeted in Heaven with open and loving arms by her predeceased parents Angelo and Maria Grossi, and her Grandparents Gennaro and Giuseppina LoGullo and Giovanni and Camilla Grossi.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, who did everything possible to help Gabe continue to fight her cancer battle over the 24 years.
Memorial Service will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW) on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (www.albertacancer.ca). To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Gabe, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
