Obituary for Stephen John Ford

Stephen John Ford
Stephen Ford
February 10, 1971 - July 17, 2018

The family of Stephen Ford announces his tragic passing on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 47. Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his partner Lee; his children Lucas, Tanner and Kimberly; grandchild Harlyn; future daughter-in-law Sam; sister Doris; and nephew and niece Mike and Heather.

Born in Vancouver as the fifth and last child to Carrie and Peter Ford, Stephen's sister Doris remembers the day he was brought home. When their Mom introduced them and told Doris to look after him, an 11-year old Doris decided he was the cutest baby ever and spent a lot of time showing Stephen off in his carriage. Although Doris and Stephen grew apart as they grew up, the last 10 years brought them close again, sharing visits and lots of laughs. Stephen was also a great uncle to Doris' kids.

Even though he worked hard as a drywaller, Stephen loved life and cooking was one of his passions. This meant regular BBQ's (always marinating overnight) and nights spent sitting by the fire pit drinking his favourite Budweiser beer and listening to music. He was also a fan of the Vancouver Canucks, looking forward to the fall start of the NHL season and his team's renewed quest for the Stanley Cup. Although Stephen loved hockey and golf, his true love (besides Lee) was his dog Dexter. In fact, Stephen's family often joked that Dexter was the favourite of them all.

Stephen will be missed dearly. He was my best friend, father to my children, and childhood sweetheart. I love you always and forever. ~ Lee xo

I will so miss my brother's funny jokes, text messages and pictures that he sent regularly back and forth. I will always be there for his wonderful family. RIP ~ Doris
