Obituary for Carol Ann McIsaac

Carol Ann McIsaac
McIsaac (Doiron), Carol Ann (Callie)
April 27, 1954 – Charlottetown, PEI
July 18, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved Carol (Callie) of Vulcan, Alberta, at age 64, who passed away peacefully and gracefully with her family at her side, on July 18th at the Foothills Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Carol was a much loved daughter, wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend. Carol has survived by her husband of 43 years, Lloyd McIsaac and their 2 children who she adored and their spouses, Lisa Barton (McIsaac) and Alex Barton, James McIsaac and Shelley Cyprien and her grandchildren Navaeh McIsaac, Olivia Barton, Carter Barton, Emmett McIsaac and Dominic McIsaac. Carol also leaves behind her mother Pauline Gallant (Doiron) and siblings, Mary Gallant, Brian Doiron, Donna Jones, Glen Doiron, Terry Doiron, Paul Doiron, Gail Pittman, Brenda Doiron, Kent Doiron and Keith Doiron along with their spouses and families. Carol was predeceased by her sister Sharon Doiron, father Vincent Doiron and her brothers Gary Doiron and Kevin Doiron.

Carol left P.E.I in the early 70’s and followed her future husband to Calgary, Alberta and they were married in 1974 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Carol’s greatest accomplishment was her children, Lisa was born in 1980 and James in 1983. Carol lived for her children. She was their biggest cheerleader and supported them with every choice they made in their lives. Carol worked for The Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane for many years and enjoyed all the relationships she built.

In 2006 Carol received the greatest gift when her first grandchild was born. Carol adored and cherished the time she spend with her grandchildren. The 5 of them were her greatest treasure.

Carol and Lloyd moved to Vulcan in 2003 to start a new adventure together. Carol started working at the Vulcan Hospital shortly after the move where she met new friends and created lasting friendships. We would like to thank all those at the Vulcan Hospital for your tremendous support throughout Carol’s journey. We would also like to thank all who sent their love through the phone, text and in person while Carol was in the hospital. We would like to let each and every one know that your expressions of love for Carol helped the family through this difficult time. Thank you for those who cared for Carol at the Peter Loughheed, South Health Campus, Foothill Hospital and the Vulcan Hospital.

A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held on Tuesday July 24th, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church (330 1st Street S) in Vulcan at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at the Vulcan Legion, 240 Sinclair Road.
