Joey Issac Anhalt
February 4, 1983 – June 14, 2018

You don’t have a soul, you are a soul,
you have a body. - Buddha

Joey Issac Anhalt, beloved husband of Heather Anhalt, passed peacefully at the Southwood Hospice on June 14, 2018, at the age of 35 years, in Calgary, AB, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joey was born in Kamloops, BC, on February 4, 1983 and his family moved to Red Deer, AB, in 1986. Joey was known for his kindness and generosity, his curious mind, as well as his inspirational hard-working ethic.

Joey graduated with a Bachelor’s of Design Degree in Industrial Design with distinction from the University of Alberta and a Diploma in Mechanical Design Technologies from SAIT. Joey’s passion for design was evident in all the projects he involved himself in, especially the business venture House & Object - he and his brother Matt created together. He loved gardening, the outdoors, music and traveling with Heather - one of their favourite places to go was Austin, Texas. Joey also loved spending time with family, Heather and their wonderful cat, Ninja.

Besides his loving wife, Joey is survived by his parents Frank and Elaine Anhalt of Red Deer, AB; three brothers Joshua (Cheryl), twin Matthew (Jennifer) and Jan; nieces and nephews Ava, Jacob, Elijah, Jaiden, and Thomas; grandmothers Theresa (Ross) Howden and Hanna Anhalt, both of Kamloops, BC; aunts Cathy (David) Biagi of Kelowna, BC and Rita Goodrich of Taber, AB; cousins Emily and Anna Biagi and Derrick and Nicholas Goodrich; life long family friend, uncle Robert (Rose) Drummond of Calgary, AB; in-laws Hugh and Toni Furber of Calgary, AB; and sisters in-law Leonie and Julie (Sarah). Joey was predeceased by his grandfathers James Goodrich and George Anhalt, and his uncle Wayne Goodrich.

A huge thank you to all our beautiful extended family, friends, co-workers, and neighbours for your invaluable support and generosity during this difficult time.
