So sad to hear about Brian’s passing. Brian was a great guy and very nice person. Always quiet and assuming. Always smiling. I met Brian over 19 years ago when he would come out to refuel our aircraft. He always took the time to say hello, and I would shake his hand at every encounter. Of course he would tell you that has hands were dirty, but no one cared. Brian had a routine. He would always come up to the flight deck to bring us our total fuel numbers and stop by for a chat about family and a good word. On cold days, we would always make him a coffee to help warm him up. He never missed a chance to come up and say hi to us, and we loved having him drop by. On a few occasions, and when it was still permitted, Brian would ride jump seat with us in the flight deck, to where ever he was going. He just loved it, and when you looked back to chat with him while flying, he still had that ear to ear smile. He simply loved it. Brian was one of us. Although he worked for a refueling company, he was like WestJet’s one and only refueler. You will be missed my friend, but you are now soaring over all of us, to better heights and still smiling.
