October 27, 1928 - May 28, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Hector Knecht on May 28, 2018 at the age of 89.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Ileen; son Roderick (Joanne); daughter Kathy (Rick) Slifka; grandchildren Ryan (Cheyenne), Davis (Nikki), Arielle, and Amelia; great-grandchildren Walter, Abraham, Martha and Darrow; siblings Margaret Rosehill, Beth Dorsey, Norman Knecht (Pat) and sister-in-law Joyce Knecht; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Otto and Ellen Knecht; brothers Gordon and Don; and by his in-laws, Ted and Emma Schmidt.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the Staff at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, for their kindness, care, and compassion shown to Bob during his stay.
A private family gathering will be held on June 5, 2018. If so desired, donations in memory of Bob are gratefully accepted by the Alberta SPCA (https://www.albertaspca.org/).
