Pieternella Gall
October 24th, 1981 - May 8th, 2018

Pieternella Violet GALL passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 8, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Pietra, her family and her friends are grateful to the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their unfailing kindness and compassion as they cared for her throughout her difficult 18-month journey.

Pietra was predeceased by her father Robert Gall on February 26, 2018. She is survived by her loving mother, Nella; her son, Xavier Turpin; her sister, Kassie (Rob) Mraz; her brother, Gregory (Wendy) Gall and nephews, Jacob, Joshua and Jared.

Pietra was born on October 24, 1981 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Robert and Nella (Nee Versloot) Gall. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Calgary, in 1999 and went on to earn a Bachelors in Kinesiology graduating from the University of Calgary in 2003. On completion of her degree, Pietra worked as a trainer at the Talisman Centre until she changed her career to radio, eventually becoming the Retail Sales Manager for the Jim Pattison Broadcasting Group.

Pietra was a loyal, kind, honest and giving person who had an insatiable zest for life and incredible determination. She had a life long love of personal health, fitness and training but her greatest love was devoted to her “little man” Xavier, whom she loved with all her heart. The impact of Pietra's friendship on those who knew her will leave each of person a richer and better human being in a world that needs more people like Pietra.

We ask those whose lives were touched by Pietra to join us in a Memorial Service celebrating her life, to be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW, Calgary) on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.

It was Pietra’s desire that her Memorial Service be a celebration and be joyful, as such, it is requested that people incorporate joyful colours into their attire.
