Obituary for Wayne Robert Lukenoff

Wayne Robert Lukenoff
June 1st, 1945 - April 25th, 2018

Wayne was born on June 1st, 1945 in Quill Lake Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at the age of 72 in Calgary. Wayne is lovingly remembered by his daughter Erica Lukenoff (son-in-law Brendan Neeson); son Matthew Lukenoff; and four beautiful grandchildren who adored him: Alexia, Caleb, Norah and Maliyah as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by Father Alex Lukenoff and Mother Norah Lukenoff; Brother Leonard Lukenoff, Sister Jeanette Lukenoff and stepson Jason Wright.

Wayne lived life to the fullest and loved to tinker around with his truck spending many of his days at Imperial Sand and Gravel. His passions were his gravel truck, crossword puzzles and the Calgary Flames. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends and could often be found with them at a local auction looking for a deal or eating at the Cash Casino.

Wayne was very generous and the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back without asking for anything in return. He had many different nicknames: Wayner, Myron, Rocky, Wrinkles but most importantly PAPA. He was the owner/operator of W.L.Trucking for over 40 years and was a retired employee of the Calgary Board of Education with over 20 years’ experience.

Wayne honestly loved planes, trains and automobiles. He was an avid joke teller and had a hilarious sense of humor to go along with his infectious one of a kind laugh. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be sadly missed.

A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held at The Deerfoot Inn and Casino (1000, 11500-35 St SE #1000, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm with tributes starting at 3:00 pm. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Wayne please visit www.choicememorial.com.
