Melville Dennis Morice

M. Dennis "Denny" Morice, 70, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home.

Dennis was born on June 10, 1947 in Cabri, Saskatchewan to Melville and Thyra (Erickson) Morice. He moved to Calgary to attend University, where he met and married Vienna (Gochee) Morice in 1971. Throughout his life, Dennis always enjoyed nature, spent time hiking and camping with family and friends, and farmed and gardened on a hobby farm. An avid sports fan, he could often be found watching football, baseball and hockey.

A loving father, Dennis will be remembered fondly by his daughter Shaina (Lonny) Hand and son Joel (Chandra) Morice; and was a proud Grandpa to granddaughters Maevie, Mara, and Esmae. Dennis is also survived by his brother Dale (Jeannie); sisters Sharon (Don) and Janeen; along with many nieces and nephews, other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Melville and Thyra, and his wife Vienna (Gochee) Morice in 1996. Dennis was a passionate and loving father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

An Open House in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. at Choice Memorial (105 - 4715 13 Street NE, Calgary).
