Joseph "Joe" Lafferty was born on November 23, 1945 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 72.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his partner Pauline; his children Tammy (Gerry), Cheryl, Gerry (Carla), Kim, Gordon, Terry, Christopher (Amber), Korie (Allison), Curtis (Sarah) and Alex; his grandchildren Chantelle, Jordan, Taran, Shaye, Ashley, Amanda, Evan, Marcus, Brittany, Boston, Savanna, Samantha, Kaitlin, Justin, Bella, Axel, Emmett, Kacey Lynn, and Cole; his great-grandchildren Jaedyn, Jayla, Kayde, and Trystan; his sisters and brother Emily, Rose and Lorne; his extended family and many, many friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents Mary and Armand, brother George and sister Doreen, and also his wife Marlene.

In honor of Joe, his love of music and his love of the Metis Community, a Celebration of Life Jam and Gathering will be held at the local 87 Metis Community Hall (1539 43 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 12:45 p.m. - 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and sing, tell stories and give condolences to the family. Lunch will be served. A private service will be held for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Mustard Seed in Calgary (https://theseed.ca/).
