Obituary for Lillian Briggs (Booth)

Lillian Briggs (Booth)
Lillian Briggs (nee Booth)
June 30th, 1922 - March 13th, 2018

Lillian Briggs passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on March 13, 2018 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 95. Lillian was born in Winnipeg, MB on June 30, 1922. She married Daniel Briggs on September 28, 1957 in Winnipeg, MB.

Lillian was a precious wife, mother and friend and next to the love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus her heart was for her family. She was a kind, gentle, caring, selfless woman that had an awesome sense of humour and would do anything for anyone even for those she didn’t know. She was the rock of her family and the first one that we went to when we needed someone to talk to. She was always there to offer advice and the first one to offer to pray for you. She always quoted scripture in a way to comfort when words didn’t seem to suffice. Anyone that met Lillian always commented on her smile, they would tell her that she had a beautiful smile. Her smile was an outward reflection of an inner beauty. We will miss that smile and her presence that just seemed to give peace. Whenever you spoke to Lillian on the phone she would never say good-bye she always said, “bye for now”. So, in keeping with that we say to our beautiful mother and friend “by for now” you will forever be in our hearts.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Daniel on May 9, 2010; father Harold Booth of Winnipeg, MB on February 17, 1975; mother Isabella Harriet Booth (nee Travis) of Winnipeg, MB on November 22, 1985; brother Harold Booth of Victoria, BC in May of 1993; sisters Isabel Elizabeth Jensen (nee Booth) of Victoria, BC on January 22, 1994 and sister Iris Hyatt (nee Booth) of Winnipeg, MB on May 20, 1998.

Lillian is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter Donna Dolhan (nee Briggs) and her son David Briggs both of Calgary; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her son Wayne Briggs of Winnipeg, MB.
