Obituary for Stuart Leslie "Stu" Hodgetts

Stuart Leslie "Stu" Hodgetts
Stuart Hodgetts
August 18, 1949 - Tuesday, February 6, 2018

Stuart “Stu” L. Hodgetts lost his battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s on February 6, 2018, at the age of 68. It was a long and demeaning road for him to travel but he kept on smiling and accepted of what was happening to him; he was never bitter. Stu was always a kind, patient and gentle soul that will be terribly missed by many.

Stu will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years Petra, and his sons Charles and Franklin (Melanie). He will also be sadly missed by his brothers Graham (Gloria) and Adrian (Pat), and his sister Estelle. Stu was predeceased by his parents Gwen and John Hodgetts, and his brother Jeff.

Stu was born in England on Aug 18, 1949 and came to Canada with his family when he was quite young. He grew up in Edmonton where he became a draftsman before getting his pilot’s licence. Stu loved to fly and flew the air medivac out of Vancouver, Grande Prairie, High Level and Calgary. He was actually the Operational Manager for Westair in Grande Prairie and Little Red Air in High Level. In Calgary, after a year of flying, Stu decided to give up his wings and he and Petra opened a Copy Centre in downtown Calgary. They ran it together for many years.

Petra would like to thank AgeCare Minidapore for the excellent care that her husband received while Stu was staying there. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Stuart please visit www.choicememorial.com.
