Obituary for Penelope Margaret Queen (Cowlard)

Penelope Margaret Queen "Penny"
June 25, 1948 - Thursday, February 1, 2018

To those who loved Penny,

Thank you for visiting this site to celebrate Penny’s life. We always knew what an amazing, generous and kind woman she was, and this last week, the outpouring of love and support has proven this to be true.

Penny fought Multiple Sclerosis for almost 20 years and we are comforted knowing that her struggle and pain are now over. Despite her many set-backs in life, she always had a way of making others smile. Her gift of quick wit and the ability to see the humour in everyday things, would always make those around her laugh. This talent served her well throughout her life.

We are so grateful to AgeCare Seton for taking care of Penny these past 2 years. It was very heartwarming to speak with so many staff members this past week who had such kind words to say about her. Penny was genuinely appreciative of their support and concern for her well-being.

No matter her physical limitations, we all could see that Penny’s love and grace was limitless. She immensely enjoyed visits with her family and friends. Penny is lovingly survived by her daughters Abilayne May, Eden (Jim) Parks, and Ashley Queen (Marcin Swierczynski); her grandsons Jackson and Carson Parks, and Charlie Swierczynski; her sister Jasmine Suke; her niece Kristina (Jeremy) Todd and their children; and her cousins Kate (Tony) Wood, Stephen Green, John Moore, and Marion (Glenn) Alcock. Penny was predeceased by: her father and mother Charles and Margaret (Peggy) Cowlard; and brother-in-law Harry Suke.

Penny did not wish to have a formal memorial and her ashes will be given to her three daughters. In lieu of flowers, Penny would have appreciated you considering a donation to your favorite charity in her name.

Rest in beautiful peace, Penny. You were a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend.
