Obituary for Elizabeth Sebesteny (Vagasi)

Elizabeth Sebesteny (Vagasi)
Elizabeth Sebesteny
March 30, 1932 - January 27, 2018

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Elizabeth Sebesteny. She passed away on January 27, 2018, at the Sarcee Hospice in Calgary, Alberta, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Elizabeth was born in Kondoros, Hungary, on March 30, 1932. She married Laszlo Sebesteny in 1950. They had 2 children, Suzanna and Laszlo (Les). In November of 1956, Elizabeth arranged to escape from Hungary to a better life in Canada. She and Laszlo eventually opened up a drapery business in Regina, Sask.
In later years, they moved to Calgary.

Elizabeth was a very strong, passionate lady, with a great love for and devotion to her family. She loved to cook, especially for her family and enjoyed nothing more than a family get together. Elizabeth was always generous with other family members; helping them out in any way she could. She was a very talented seamstress, who made beautiful draperies, quilts and clothing. She loved and appreciated pretty things and animals. She was not afraid of hard work and always kept busy.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory and the love and legacy she has left behind; her daughter, Suzanna (Gabor) and her son, Laszlo (Lorna), her five grandchildren and her eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Laszlo in 2011.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3039 26th Street SW Calgary, Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cancer Society in Elizabeth's name (https://give.bcrf.org/). Those Special Memories Of You
Will Always Bring A Smile
If Only I Could Have You Back
For Just A Little While
Then We Could Sit And Talk Again
Just Like We Used To Do
You Always Meant Very Much To Me
And Always Will
The Fact That You’re No Longer Here
Will Always Cause Me Pain
But You’re Forever In My Heart
Until We Meet Again
