Obituary for Charles Raymond Wadman

Charles Raymond Wadman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Raymond Wadman, 81, on January 23, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta. Born in Glace Bay, NS, Charles worked many different jobs in his life, but the ones that he valued the most was being both a father and grandfather as well as the 6 years that he served with the Canadian Army. During the years that he lived in Fenelon Falls, Ontario Charles was both a active and voluntary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 238. On Nov 11, 2008 he was presented with the Lifetime Membership for his various aspects of service and his dedication to the branch. Charles loved to spend time at RCLB 238 in many different ways, Bingo Chair, Sports Officer, Beaver and Cubs leader, Ball Umpire and Hockey Coach. When it came time for bingo he would be there to set up, but if you ask anyone else it was to tease the players. He always had a smile on his face a whistle on his lips, a helping hand and a kind word.

Charles was predeceased by his wife Shirley Hogan Wadman, his parents Margaret and Charles Wadman, brothers Lloyd (Sonny) Wadman, Kerry Wadman and sister Shirley Larson Wadman. Charles is survived by his son Charles Raymond Wadman, and his grandchildren Catherine and Charles ( Logan ) Wadman, Shona Wadman (daughter in law); sisters Roberta (Bobby) (husband Eugene Frost), Quita, Noreen, Dolores McIsaac and Sandra (Sandy) Wadman Clark and several nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S that he was so fond of. Charles will be missed by his family and friends To honor his final wishes he has been entrusted to Choice Memorial for cremation with no formal funeral service as he wished to return home to Glace Bay. Charles would want you to remember him for being him, to never worry, be happy, smile and to have love in your heart always and to think of him now and then and know that he loved you all.

Should you wish to donate in his memory, his choices would be the Veteran Poppy Fund, or the Veteran Food bank.
