The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Eduardo Mendoza can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I met Eduardo at the Albian Sand As Built project at Ft McMurray in 2012 with Worley Parsons. He called me sister and I called him brother. He was a happy guy that was always laughing and singing karaoke. We would get together with our coworkers Robin, Milind and Alberto and sing karaoke after supper. Brother was a generous guy and liked to help colleagues when we had any problems. He was calm and had a positive outlook on making sure that we would be able to solve the problem together. I was lucky to work with him again in 2015 at Agrium, Carseland. All our coworkers admired his free hand ISO sketches. He was a great teacher and I learned a lot from him.The distance from my house which was in the northwest to Carseland was very far, therefore when winter came, I asked Ed to lease a room to me so I could stay there and avoid the long drive home on the icy Calgary roads. He treated me like family and insisted I not pay him any rent. He cooked dinner and I would do the dishes. Everyday we would have fish because he knew I would never get the chance to have it in my own home because my husband doesn't like the smell! He liked to watch TV Patrol while he was cooking and explained to me what was going on in the Philippines. He told me Aquino was the best president. After dinner he would sing karaoke. He always asked me “Sis, do you like my singing?“ and I always replied ”Brother, you should pay me to listen to you!“ He laughed and continued singing. We were always joking and laughing. He liked to tell me stories about his families, romances, working experience in different countries and adventures. All of his stories were happy and funny. Always positive and encouraging, Eduardo was my great friend and brother. I am very sad that we have lost such a beautiful person. I miss my brother, but his spirit and his words of wisdom are planted deeply in my heart. I always have a smile on my face when I'm thinking of Eduardo Mendoza. A petite ordinary man with an extraordinary spirit. His sincere personality and beautiful heart touch everyone around him. I believe he is very happy singing beautifully in Heaven now.
