Obituary for Brian Peter Wilde

Brian Peter Wilde
November 11, 1942 - January 2, 2018

After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, I'm now home with the Lord. I grew up in Eaglesham, Alberta with my five surviving siblings, Harold, Rosemary, Barry, Susan and Robert. Upon completing high school, I pursued my passion for farming, but later decided to change directions and moved to Calgary where I attended S.A.I.T. and obtained a Diploma in Diesel Technology eventually followed by a Diploma in Reservoir Engineering Technology. It was during this time that I met my loving wife of 52 years, Linda. Together we raised our two children, Kevin (1967 - 1994) and Janine (Gervais). I am also survived by my son-in-law/fishing buddy, Kel, and my cherished granddaughter, Jenna.

After a long, enjoyable career at Home Oil Company Ltd. and two brief stops at Hallmark Tubulars and Telus Mobility to add to my working career, Linda and I became "California/Arizona Snow Birds" for 17 years. We cultivated many amazing friendships with our "Towerpoint" Tennis Club. Our summer months in Calgary were filled with more tennis with our wonderful friends at the Sundance Tennis Club.

I spent my life enjoying the outdoors, particularly the Rocky Mountains. I was privileged to be able to hike, do both alpine and back country skiing, camp and winter cook outs with my family and friends for many years and create memories along the way. Thank you to my extended church family, Southview Alliance Church, for prayers and endless outreach of support. If you think of me and would like to do something to honor my memory, do this:
- Forgive someone even if you think they don't deserve it
-Volunteer your time
-Make someone smile

A special, heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff and volunteers at Foothills Country Hospice. If you so desire, please consider a donation to Southview Alliance Church Building Fund.

A Celebration of my Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Blvd. SE, Calgary). To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Brian please visit www.choicememorial.com.
