Nicole Jelley passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017.

We lost one of the good ones last Sunday. My dearest friend and soulmate Nicole succumbed to cancer just after 1:00am. Until about a month ago, she was the poster child for living well with cancer. Diagnosed nearly 2 years ago, she named -- and made friends with --her tumour and gave her hell when she was misbehaving. Nicole's incredible will and strength had her feeling pretty good; she (we) even had plans for 3 weeks in Paris over Christmas. Alas, Betsy (the tumour) had other plan and less than 2 weeks ago it was discovered she had spread.

Mercifully, the end was relatively quick, peaceful and with her hand in my hand. Her last little breath will be with me for the rest of my life. Nicole was a strong woman; a force of nature; wise and warm. Her life mattered to so many people and I consider myself blessed to have called her my friend, my soulmate, my wife. When asked to summarize her life, Nicole simply replied: “Always tried to do my best”. She will be dearly missed by all and is now with her mama and papa. Chérie, tu me manques - JTBBBB.

Nous avons perdu la grande personne qu’était Nicole. Elle part en nous laissant un immense vide - sa générosité, sa force et sa volonté nous ont donné des leçons de vie.

Je perds ma meilleure amie, mon soul mate, mon amour et ma femme.
