Obituary for James Ernest LePla

James Ernest LePla
James LePla
December 23, 1935 - Saturday, December 9, 2017

James Ernest LePla passed away peacefully, in the early hours of December 9, 2017.

Jim is survived by his 6 children Janet, Stacey, Kelly, Jamie, Kari and Erin; 11 grandchildren Ryan, Devan, Kyle, Bronwyn, Clayton, Preston, Myles, Megan, Kristy, Colby and Kory; and 4 great-grandchildren Kai, Aroura, Farley and Parker. He certainly ensured that his genetic legacy would thrive for many generations to come.

Outside of the family Jim was known as a gifted hunter and taxidermist. Jim’s love of outdoor sports shaped the identity of his family. It was a right of passage for his children and grandchildren’s friends to come over and see Jim’s animals when they were introduced to the family. The boyfriends of the girls in the family were also given a glimpse of the rifle collection.

Jim was somehow the strongest man his family had known and the most relatable all at once. Whether you needed tough love or words of comfort was irrelevant. Jim always told you what you needed to hear, not necessarily what you wanted. His blunt honesty made him the most valuable source of fatherly advice.

Jim was a successful family man. This is evident in the countless loving family members he leaves behind who still consider him to be the center of the family. May he rest peacefully with Mearle at his side once again.

We all miss you Dad, Grandpa and Great-grandpa. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Jim please visit www.choicememorial.com.
