Karen Goodman (Ingham)
November 9, 1950 - December 6, 2017

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Karen Yvonne Goodman (Ingham).

Karen was born on November 9th, 1950 to Herbert and Monica Ingham in Toronto, Ontario and passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta surrounded by family after a long illness and courageous battle.

Karen was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her loving sons Ryan and Brad Thomson to whom she was a devoted mother. Residing in Calgary since 1982 she was a long term employee of the Calgary Sun and the Calgary Zoo where she made numerous life-long friendships as well as fulfilling her passion of being surrounded by animals which she loved dearly.

No matter what challenges mom faced in her life she was always thinking of others and showed as much with her never ending contributions to charities of all kinds and her unyielding compassion and empathy for those who were suffering and less fortunate.

Karen will also be sorely missed by all of her friends that knew her from Ontario, England, British Columbia and Calgary that are too numerous to count as she made friends everywhere she went.

Special thanks to Dr Fraser and the staff at Rocky view Hospital unit 94 for the care they gave in her final days.

There will be no service as per her wishes but a memorial gathering will be held at the family home on Saturday, December 16th between 1-4pm for those wishing to attend to pay their respects.
