Ollie Lengsfeld passed away on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 at the age of 63. Ollie was born in Germany on December 28, 1953. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Canada and began a new life in Grenfell, SK. After a time, the family moved to Lethbridge, AB and then finally settled in Calgary, AB. Ollie was very athletic in school and excelled at sports. As a young man, he worked both as a ski instructor and life guard. Ollie also had a passion for flying and worked hard to earn his pilot’s license. He bought a plane and then went on to work as a flight instructor at Springbank Airport, aircraft highway speed patrol, and fire patrol in the Sparwood area. With the arrival of his daughter and the start of his family, Ollie chose to go back to school to earn his Journeyman license as an auto body technician and was employed in the family business for many years. During the years that followed, Ollie had a long and difficult struggle with alcoholism. He passed away at the age of 63 on December 3, 2017. Ollie is predeceased by his father Frank Lengsfeld and his mother Helene Lengsfeld (nee Kisse). He is survived by the mother of his children, Sharon Kitt, his four children: Sarah (Cody), Bradley (Stephanie), Chad (Jennifer), and Byron, as well as five grandchildren: Jesse, Evan, Daniel, Ainslee, and Hannah. He is also survived by his brother Reinhard and sister Barbara.

Memorial Service will be held at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm. If desired, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Mustard Seed Street Ministry, 403-269-1319 (www.theseed.ca).
