Karen Dale Louie
July 20, 1955 - November 30, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Dale Louie (nee Mimura) of Calgary, at the age of 62. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 40 years, Fong Louie; children Allison (Chris), Ryan (Finka); grandchildren Natalie and Kato; Mother Linda Mimura; brother Wayne (Sharon) Mimura; sister Sandra (Randy) Carr and many nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her father Daniel Mimura.

Karen loved downhill skiing, especially on fresh powder, and enjoyed the runs with Ryan. Quilting was her other passion, as attested by her many machines and mounds of fabric and thread.

Thanks to the Foothills Hospital medical staff and Rosedale Hospice for their care and compassion. If you so desire, memorial tributes may be made to your favourite charity.

We will be celebrating the life of Karen Louie on Saturday, December 16 at the Calgary Nikkei Cultural and Senior Centre (2236 29th St SW) between 2 to 4 PM. Feel free to dress festively, as this event is meant to celebrate the joy she felt in living her life, and the imprint she left in all of ours.
