June Southard

In the year 2000 Randy and I began our search for an American Cocker-Spaniel puppy. That's when our world connected with June's. We thought we were going to see our future puppy, but in fact, June invited us so she could check us out to see if we were worthy of becoming good owners. Fortunately we passed the criteria and were soon owners of " Sunny" (BT Debsu Sunburst). June spent so much time helping us as new owners, and it was soon evident that June gave her entire life to her Cocker-Spaniel Kids. The next thing we knew, she had us involved in the Dog Show Scene, where in no time , Sunny became our Canadian Champion and Best In Breed. What a ride! Sunny sired several litters for June, one from which we got our 2nd  pup, Sunny's daughter, "Sunny's Precious Star". A few years later, Star had a litter of 3 puppies...Timothy Stargazer, Zuri, and Sooner, 2 of which are Canadian Champions today. I was fortunate enough to have spent the week with June and saw Star give birth to these pups...what an amazing experience. These beautiful puppies are the end of June's "Debesu" line. June was a well respected Breeder and member of the Calgary  Alberta Canadian Kennel Associations, as well as American Cocker Spaniel Associations. She was a stickler for "genetic details" in the breeding of her American Cocker Spaniels, and was a book of knowledge, teaching me so much about grooming, caring, breeding, and showing these beauties. She was a friend, sister, and mother all in one....I will cherish our friendship forever.  Randy will always cherish the many weekly visits he and June had over coffee and a muffin at McDonalds. He will also never forget the many actual details of breeding, sometimes a little too graphic for Randy...but he did learn. Thanks to June, we were introduced to a whole new world of lifetime friends. She was the best, and will be sadly missed, but she will be free in  Heaven, and I'm sure will cross THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, to see and care for her "Cocker Spaniel Kids" once again.   Friends Forever, June,  Gail Grekul/ Anderson and Randy Anderson & Star.
