Obituary for Trevor Raymond Maki

MAKI, Trevor Raymond
June 2, 1944 – November 29, 2017

Trevor passed away at the AgeCare Glenmore Nursing Home in Calgary, AB on November 29, 2017 at the age of 73 years. Trevor was the eldest of 7 children and is survived by his sisters Pam Kardas (Stan) of Timmins, ON, Valerie Bergey (Glen) of Prince George, BC, Phyllis Dupuis (Ken) of Calgary, AB, and brother Cheslie Maki of Calgary, AB. Trevor will also be missed by his Aunt Jeanette Taylor (Derek) of England, and his nieces and nephews Jennifer and Carl Bergey, Christopher Kardas, Kathryn, Kristine and Kassandra Dupuis, Desirae Maki, and numerous other relatives. Trevor was predeceased by his partner Roberta Melzer, his parents Raymond and Helen Maki, and two brothers Wayne and Reginald Maki (April 2017).

Trevor was born in Lands End, Parrenporth (Cornwall) England. He then moved to Canada and grew up in Timmins, ON. He was a sports enthusiast. He played baseball and broomball, and was an avid hockey, football, baseball, and thoroughbred horse racing fan. Trevor worked at Dome Mines and later became a taxi owner/operator. He moved to Calgary, AB in 1984 and worked as security and a night auditor until he retired in 2006 in Torrington, AB.

Trevor enjoyed playing cribbage and making people laugh. He was a member of the Olds Legion where he enjoyed dancing. He loved Country and Western music, and arranged the “Torrington Old-Time Festival” in 2012.
