Carol used to volunteer for a pre-trades training program that I was blessed to be apart of. She volunteered for a few years as a mock employer for practice interviews. We would hold speed interviews throughout the building and give the mock employers roles or characters to play out ...for example: they were the site supervisor of ABC company etc...often we would ask that our volunteers behaved harshly even kind of rude and inapproriate....this was sooooo out of character for Carol but she took her role very seriously realizing that this was such a helpful opportunity for the people in the program. We often would give Carol an office or table on the main floor but this time she had insisted that she could climb the stairs with her cane (Carol was kinda like that as you know :-)). So she set herself up in one of the offices upstairs and tucked her cane behind a cupboard. There was a line up of students in the hall to get interviewed by her. This was a program for women but this particular group we did have one man and he was first to interview with Carol. When this gentleman came out of the office he was flushed and visably shaken, sitting on the floor leaning up against the wall in the hall. Carol had really scared him by asking him "e;what do you want?"e; in a very aggressive voice...it was really sooooo funny and this man laughs about it to this day! He went on to the other mock interviews with ease like a pro; his first interview with a large construction company shortly after that.
Thank-you Carol - I can still see the big smile on your face and hear you and your sister Carmen laughing....stay blessed and continue to share your beautiful spirit of light and love
Jane
