Condolence From: Russ McKinnon
Condolence: After acquiring my first used Volvo in 1972 and having learned from a friend about the esteemed father-son team of Alex and Percy Lepke, I was fortunate to be a Fairway client for many years. Percy elevated motor-mechanics to an art-form, and was one of the most courteous and honest men I have been privileged to know. Rest in peace, Percy.

Condolence: Percy was my father. This loss has hit my family hard and I am heartbroken that we didn't have a chance to say goodbye. His grandson Jack just turned 14 and will be accompanying me to his celebration of life on Dec 8 in Calgary. I moved away from Calgary about 30 years ago and have only returned there a handful of times, most recently in 2013 when my mother, Kim, sustained a serious head injury, and then days after then when she passed away. Losing my second parent is no easier. My hope is that I will meet people that knew him well and can share stories. Reading these condolences from others stirs a lot of memories. I remember visiting Fairway Service Garage - I remember the smell of the oil, the dirty overalls and grease under his nails and on his hands. I can't go to a garage today without thinking of him. I do recall a jelly candy that he used to treat He met my son Jack around 2007 after some years of disconnection. Anyone who knew him knew technology wasn't his friend so being in another city was challenging. I lived in Vancouver for decades and tried very hard to ensure he had a connection with Jack. We will look forward meeting his friends, paying our respects and saying goodbye. It takes time to heal after losing a part of where you come from. I look forward to starting that process with my son.

Condolence: Percy was a driving instructor extraordinaire. I was blessed to have met him when we both worked at the AMA and then in the years before his retirement, he worked with us at Safety In Motion Inc. The teens loved him. My corporate clients were impressed with his talents. At one site in Saskatchewan, he was able to consult with the mechanic on the huge diesel engines on the site and offer tips that corrected the problems! He was an angel wrapped up in a fisherman's body with his yellow dog by his side. I was so happy when he came for a visit to my acreage and brought his yellow dog. I still have the cards that he gave me for my birthday and Christmas time. I have been blessed to have him, Jason and Hyacinthe touch my life. We lost touch with Percy and now we know where he is. We loved you Percy.

Condolence: Percy was my mechanic for years, but more importantly the drummer and van driver in my first professional gig. I was 15 and I thought Percy was old then (more than 40 years ago). Percy had endless humor on jobs. He particularily liked latin dance tunes. The most memorable thing about Percy is how reliable he was and how he made us feel truly safe on those road trips. Winter gigs out of town could be treacherous in the 1970s. You paved the way sir.

Condolence: It was a privilege to know Percy from 1969 onwards. A superb mechanic, he quickly became a close and trusted friend. He shared his love of Volvos, a Peugeot, fishing and driving. He was a model of honesty, courtesy and fine old-fashioned values. He shared his worki with his beloved father, and, over the years, with Carl, Jaime and Resty. His garage hosted many good times with Volvo clients.. May he rest well, in peace.
Gary Cioni and family.

Condolence: Percy was our auto mechanic from 1970 to 1973 when he and his dad had Fairway Service Garage on Macleod Trail across from the Big Four building. He was an honest man with integrity and I liked him. We are so sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.
