Obituary for Brittney Angela Perkin (Brown)

Brittney Angela Perkin (Brown)
Brittney Perkin
July 20th, 1989 - Tuesday, October 17th, 2017

Brittney Angela Perkin (Brown) was born July 20, 1989 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and passed away on the 17th of October 2017 at the age of 28 after a lengthy, courageous, and heroic battle against cancer.

As a young child the family moved to Alberta, living in Carmangay, Okotoks and Calgary. Brittney attended Lord Beaverbrook High School and the University of Calgary. She followed her love of animals by becoming a respected and well-loved dog trainer, eventually starting her own business.

Brittney is survived by her loving family: her husband Matthew Perkin, parents Richard & Suzana Brown, brother Derek Brown, grandmother Barbara Brown (Wilcox) and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brittney spent the last weeks of her long battle in the loving care at the Foothills Country Hospice outside of Okotoks. Her husband and family would like to extend their eternal thanks and gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foothills Country Hospice (www.countryhospice.org). At Brittney’s request, there will be no formal service, but rather a Celebration of Life shared amongst family and friends on Saturday, October 21st at 3:00 pm at the family home. Those interested in attending can contact Matt at matt@perkin.ca.
